On Monday, July 25, 2016, work began on the construction of the Ricci Family Fields and geothermal well field project. The project is at the north end of campus immediately west of the Stinson Rugby field near Stepan Center. The project will involve a phased excavation of the site, drilling of approximately 679 geothermal wells, the construction of three new synthetic turf fields, and construction of a new support building for use by the Notre Dame Marching Band.…
As we can all agree, this has been an unusually disruptive summer for parking on campus. We recognize the ongoing construction has resulted in an often inconvenient parking experience, so we want to thank you for your continued patience and understanding this summer. Fortunately, many projects are nearing completion, and status updates are provided below:…
Walkways along the east entrance of Fitzpatrick Hall will be removed (and ultimately replaced), to allow for the installation of a waterproofing system for the two basement floors that extend past the edge of the building.
This phase will begin Monday, July 4, and conclude by mid-August.
Beginning Monday, June 20, Eddy Street will be closed to traffic between Holy Cross Drive and Moose Krause Circle. In addition, a walkway east of the Jenkins Hall and Nanovic Hall worksite that leads to the Hesburgh Center for International Studies will be closed beginning Tuesday, June 21.
Leahy Drive will be closed from Edison Road/Angela Boulevard to just south of Compton Family Ice Arena lot from 7 a.m. on Monday, June 13, until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. All traffic will be detoured to Joyce Drive or along Holy Cross Drive.
Underground work will be done to connect the water supply from the west side of Leahy Drive to the new Harris Track and Field Stadium.
All parking lots will remain open during this work. See the map for details. track_and_fieldupdate_june16.pdf
Parking in the Hesburgh Library circle will be temporarily disrupted by ongoing construction beginning Monday, June 6. Parking spaces on the east side of the circle will be unavailable. Drivers will still have access to spaces on the west side of the circle.
On Wednesday, June 8, parking access will shift in the B2 library lot (see map) as construction associated with the McCourtney Hall research facility enters a new phase. Drivers will regain access to parking spaces in the lot’s northeast section, at the corner of Bulla Road and Leahy Drive. The east portion of the lot along Leahy Drive will be closed through Tuesday, July 5.
Facilities Design and Operations wishes to communicate a series of repair and maintenance projects to begin this summer.
Elevator Construction – Temporary Elevator Shut Downs
The elevator on the northwest side and the adjacent elevator (that is under construction) will be temporarily shutdown. This shutdown is taking place for electrical and fire alarm improvements in the Elevator Modernization Project. The shutdown schedule is as follows:…
Construction work related to the Campus Crossroads Project will result in limited parking at Legends restaurant beginning April 4.
Only a small amount of non-delivery access will be available in the lot, just south of the restaurant, through May 11. Alternate parking is available in the adjacent B and C lots.
In order to replace a boiler economizer at the Power Plant, Holy Cross Drive will have restricted traffic and be closed per the schedule below. Access to all campus facilities will continue, but traffic patterns may need to be adjusted.
Complete closure of Holy Cross Drive is planned for 24 hours starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, with a projected end no later than 6 a.m., March 10. Single lane traffic will be available the balance of the week from Monday, March 7, at 8:30 a.m. until Friday, March 11, at 8:30 p.m.
Roadwork is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., Monday, March 7, near Notre Dame Federal Credit Union.
Crews will be removing old directional arrows from the westbound lane of Moreau Drive and the northbound lane of St. Joseph Drive. In addition, four roadside parking spaces along Moreau Drive will be eliminated to make it easier for vehicles exiting the credit union to see oncoming traffic.
Between Friday, March 4 and Friday, March 11, Facilities Design and Operations will install gate posts and a more permanent barrier between the student and the faculty/staff parking areas. Open the attachment for detailed information and a map showing where cars will be allowed to park during the week.
Hesburgh Library’s South Entrance Gallery nears completion and construction barrier walls are scheduled for removal beginning the week of February 29. Several construction projects are scheduled to take place next week during Fall Break, when many in the Notre Dame community leave the area to visit family and friends.
